Who we are
This website and the games described on it are operated by TwoSquaredEight Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17176502, trading as TwoSquaredEight. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
For anything to do with privacy, write to contact@twosquaredeight.com.
The short version
We collect as little as possible. This website has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising and no cookies. Our games are single-player and keep your progress on your own device. The only personal data we normally hold is an email you have chosen to send us.
This website
Cookies. This site sets no cookies and uses no local storage for tracking.
Analytics. We run no analytics or visitor-tracking software, so we do not build a profile of you or record what you looked at.
Hosting. The site is served by Amazon Web Services (Amazon CloudFront and Amazon S3). To deliver a page to you, AWS necessarily processes your IP address and basic request details. AWS acts as our processor under its standard terms.
Fonts. Our pages load the IBM Plex typefaces from Google
Fonts. That means your browser makes a request to Google's servers
(fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), and
your IP address is disclosed to Google as part of it. We receive nothing
from that request. Google's handling is covered by the
Google Privacy Policy.
If you email us
If you write to contact@twosquaredeight.com we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to reply to you and to keep a record of the correspondence. Our email is hosted by Google Workspace.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to someone who has chosen to contact us. We keep correspondence for as long as it is useful for that purpose and then delete it.
Our games
Our games are single-player. They do not require an account, they do not ask you to sign in, and they have no social or multiplayer features.
Game progress and settings are stored locally on your own device and are not transmitted to us. We do not operate a server that receives your gameplay, and we do not collect analytics or advertising identifiers from inside our games.
Where a game is distributed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, those platforms handle the download, any payment, and their own analytics under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your payment details.
If a future title needs to collect anything — an account, a leaderboard, crash reporting — we will say so in that game and update this policy before it ships.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Our website is not directed at children, and our games do not ask anyone for personal information.
Sharing and transfers
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Data is disclosed only to the service providers named above (AWS for hosting, Google for email and fonts), or where we are legally required to disclose it. Those providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on the safeguards set out in their own terms, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, email contact@twosquaredeight.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use data you have already given us will be communicated directly where we are able to.
